Maybe, I am more interested in the cruise (not a big fan of seafood). Of course I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this since joining the club. I'm with Spaz, let's see how the next few weeks/months go - I'm not in threat of losing my job, but a reduced income is certainly looming :(

I want to say around 2.5 hours total. we tend to drive a scenic route and in formation so it takes a little longer then if you were to drive direct by yourself.

Long and in formation sounds good to me. Driving a nice car is one of my favorite things to do. As I quoted the Buddha sayin'...

Yes it was a tough call, but the other option for this month without changing the clubs schedule alot was Mother's day which was a reallly bad choice. We'll be doing another one in the fall I hope

Marc (PonyRedux) and I completed the dry run for this cruise today. We hammered out all the gory details of the cruise route (slightly different from last year) but overall a fantastic route with some great scenic roads with curves. And of course we had to go to the restaurant to taste test the food to make sure it was still great, and I'm happy to report it was excellent!

We also spoke to the manager to give them a headsup on the date and get us a reservation for the entire upstairs of the restaurant.

Do you have the itinerary/times (meet up/drivers mtg/departure/arrival at restaurant/departure home)? I am assuming the meet up point is the same place you guys have the meetings? I didn't see any time details in the OP, just the date.

Depending on times, going to try to make this one...either drive LilRed or ride along in Ant's Cobra. He ran over one of these (http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Common+Snapping+Turtle&FORM=RESTAB&&id=C1E7CEC0B9A88F6DA87EF4FEAE724499993DDBF9&selectedIndex=16#view=detail&id=C1E7CEC0B9A88F6DA87EF4FEAE724499993DDBF9&selectedIndex=0) yesterday while out cruising, think he just wants to make sure the car is OK to cruise out to MD.

My times are very close to actual times. MD meet time is 10:00 arrival for marylanders and departure time of 10:30 am is accurate. The only difference will be the actual departure time from the Virginia meet spot ;)

The Halfway point aka Maryland Meet up is at the Food Lion near intersection of 301/Route 4 in Upper Marlboro MD.

Address is 5715 Crain Hwy, Upper Marlboro, MD. We will meet in the UPPER lot this year and if memory serves meet up is at approx 945-10am. We will be crossing into MD on route 301 at the Governor Harry Nice Bridge before going up towards that meeting spot.

I-95 was blocked by construction which had I-95 down to one lane. If you got on at the Dumfries entrance you missed that mess but unfortunately I got on at beautiful downtown Dale City. But made it to the meeting spot, eventually, and to my surprise the folks were still there. It was a really nice cruise, a little chilly, but turned out to be a very nice day.

The restaurant was all it was touted to be. I got the Neptune Platter which was one crab cake, two shrimp, two scallops, flounder and a baked potato.

Good company, a nice day, great view of the boats and water and a nice ride back once I found a gas station as the trip down had me below 1/2 tank. My thanks to all for good planning and a flawless execution in spite of the bad traffic onI-95!!

Today's cruise was a spectacular event, we had I believe 37 people and approx 29 cars on the cruise that ended up moving thru Virginia and into Maryland very well. Following the meet up with Maryland's clubs we proceeded down some very windy back country roads thru Calvert County and ending up at Solomons for the legendary crab cakes. I would like to thank the participants from all three clubs that went on this event for making the day very enjoyable. I would also like to thank the Staff of our club as well as MCOM's President Bob Thompson(who grabbed a radio to help us) who helped me move the cruise flawlessly thru some very tight and at times congested areas without breaking a sweat. WE really do have the formula for these events down gents! I know we had a few issues with the radios when we got into the windy back woods and I'm going to look into options there but there were times when I needed something and I looked in my mirror and you guys were already there waiting for me without saying a word and it was a true pleasure to watch it unfold.

Thank you EVERYONE.

I had a great time :) I'll have some pics to post in the next few days, although I completely derped and over-exposed a bunch. The stress is making me an idiot, I'll be glad when class is done. Note for the staff: Next cruise, I'd very much like to either go along on the dry-run to take notes on where I can pull ahead and get shots of the group, or maybe a Google map of the route so I can pre-run it to pick some photo-op spots. Also next time hopefully I'll have the Boss (my wife) with me to pilot so I can shoot without wrecking :D Thanks for a great event ya'all, it was loads of fun. I very much look forward to the next one, that's the kinda stuff I join clubs for :) I appreciate all ya'all's hard work and dedication to our hobby :)

Edit: The cars are sexy as heck, and it was awesome meeting our Maryland club-cousins. Some beautiful New Edges in that group for sure. It was even a nice drive back home, to be honest. I couldn't be happier with the event.

And the food was so good I went back again today and ate there AGAIN!!! This time I got the surf and turf and got one of the best filet's I have ever eaten.

But their desserts sucked. I got the strawberry shortcake but the shortcake was hard and dense, like a brick. The manager ended up coming over and asked me what the trouble was and I handed him my spoon and asked him to cut into it. You could see him straining and he then said "Well it is a little dense". He offered to comp it on the bill but I just told him you win some and lose some and I'll just write that one off. And my wife got the key lime pie and she said it wasn't very good but we enjoyed a LOT, all the rest. Hey, at least I must have if I made that long drive back there. It was a little cooler today and no one was sitting outside.

Now I'm thinking about how good that filet was!!! I might be tempted to go back again soon but probably no desserts.

Great service and a good waitress and the manager was very nice.

Too bad about the deserts, with the rest being so good one would think the deserts would be as good, perhaps that's why everyone went across the street to get ice-cream! Not one complaint and that little shack was BUSY!

It was great seeing those long lost familiar faces/cars and meeting some of the new ones as well! The weather was beautiful, the route was scenic and quite enjoyable and the crab cakes were super yummy! Tis why I had 2 1/2 of them along with the calamari and ended with the Oreo sundae from across the street! I weighed just over 2 lbs more when I got home, but it was WELL worth it and looking forward to the next one;-)
Thanks to those who made this happen and kept us together all day!!!!!

It was a little cooler today and no one was sitting outside.

Now I'm thinking about how good that filet was!!! I might be tempted to go back again soon but probably no desserts.

Great service and a good waitress and the manager was very nice.

Very glad to hear you had a good second impression of the place, sorry about the dessert but as you said you win some and lose some. The crab cakes and steak area always winners there! Ice cream at the stand across the road by the water is some very good soft serve icecream!

Been a long weekend. I'm now in the process of pulling all 20 GB of video off my GoPro Hero 3. Once it's off the memory card, I will view and edit the videos into a movie. Goal is to have it together some time this week!

Because I'm a glutton for punishment (no sleep) I completed the video tonight. After you hit play, be sure to click the gear in the bottom right and select 1080p. The video looks 100x better in high def!
Unfortunately the camera batteries died as soon as we hit the curvy section in leg two. Next time I'll be better prepared.

Enjoy!

Nice video!!! I really enjoyed it. You should get a mike so you can sing as you go down the road to give us an audio track or you could narrate. Good job!!

I did HERE (http://northernvirginiamustangclub.com/forums/showthread.php?500-Pics-from-the-CCC), although my distraction and lack of sleep due to prolonged exposure to Academia led to far less usable images than I had hoped.
